Learning Disability Support at Home Can Be Cost-Effective

Choice and Independence at Home

Confidence in the Community

Consistent, Person-Led Support

Support Designed With the Person, Not Around a Label

Every individual communicates, learns and experiences the world differently. We listen to the person, their family or advocate and involved professionals, then build support around what matters to them: daily routines, relationships, work or volunteering, hobbies, community life and future goals.

Support can range from a few hours each week to more comprehensive care. It may suit adults with mild, moderate or severe learning disabilities, autism, Down’s syndrome, developmental differences or associated physical and sensory needs, subject to assessment.

Promoting Independence Safely

Good support does not take over tasks a person can do themselves. It offers the right amount of encouragement, time and practical help so skills and confidence can grow. We focus on positive risk management, informed choice and respectful support that balances independence with wellbeing and safeguarding.

Care plans identify how the person prefers to communicate, what may cause anxiety, the support that helps and how progress should be recognised.

How Learning Disability Support Works

Organising home care needn’t be complicated or stressful, and we offer a straightforward, supported process to help you make clear decisions at each step.

Starting with a Personalised Assessment

Home care services start with in-person conversations and care assessments, which give us the insight we need to understand how your care planning should work and any routines, medical needs, or concerns we need to address.

Building a Care Plan Around the Individual

Private home care services are wholly tailored to your well-being, in terms of the support you would like, and how you would like it to be delivered. We account for every detail, from the preferred timing of care visits, the meals or activities you most enjoy, and how we can support your comfort and quality of life.

Building a Care Plan Around the Individual

Of course, care needs can and do change, and we offer flexible care, whether by increasing care visits, providing more hours of care, or offering advice on how your care can be adapted to your requirements.

Carers Chosen for Patience, Empathy and Consistency

Carers are carefully selected and supported with training relevant to learning disability awareness, autism, communication, safeguarding, mental capacity and Positive Behaviour Support. Matching also considers shared interests, personality and communication style because trust is built through relationships, not rotas.

Technology That Improves Clarity Without Taking Away Choice

Digital care planning helps authorised people understand how support is being delivered and how goals are progressing. Records can improve consistency between carers and communication with families or professionals, while decisions remain person-led and human connection stays central.
